ASSASSIN'S CREED II COSTUME
Game accurate wearable replica costume from the game Assassin's Creed II, all patterns were created from observation of 3D game models of the lead character and were later transferred to period accurate materials including leather linen cotton and velvet. Armour and detail pieces can all be removed and are interchangeable. Solid pieces including the belt buckle and cape pieces were sculpted in Chavant, silicone moulds produced and then cold cast with aluminium powder in urethane resin.
Genuine leather was used to create armour, cape and functional pouches which add a very nice weight and authentic feel to the finished costume.
Embellishments of velvet and lace tatting were sewn to each piece prior to construction allowing the velvet lining to move freely to maximise mobility while wearing the finished garments.
The costume is made up of 12 different elements. It was important to keep them separate to ensure the components reacted to each other in an organic and natural way during movement.
The iconic Assassin's Creed belt buckle was cold cast with aluminium powder in urethane resin. To avoid the finished piece from braking in the middle a core layer of fiberglass was enclosed between the beauty coat and final top up pour while still in the mould. The resulting buckle is extremely strong.
